Pattaya Elephant Village
Elephant shows and trekking. The Elephant Village was opened in Pattaya in 1973 as a sanctuary for former working elephants. These elephants, through reasons of injury or ill health, can no longer be used as a part of the backbone of heavy work in the jungles of Thailand. Also because of their diminishing habitat, it is now longer possible to return them to the wild. The Elephant Village provides then magnificent creatures with a safe haven, where they may live out their lives with dignity and freedom from fear. A visit to the Elephant Village is not only unique experience, but it is also a lifesaver because the fees paid by our visitors contribute to, the very survival of the elephants, both now and in the future.
Bang Saray Fishing Village (3 kms)
Bang Saray is a fishing village located only 15 minutes south of Pattaya. Viharnra Sien (4 kms)
At Viharn Sien you can feel the Chinese historial relationship with Thailand. A truly Thai Chinese arts and cultures come together in perfect harmony. Viharnra Sien often spelt Viharn Sien close to the Khao. Chee-Chan Sculptural image is this magnificent Temple/Museum taking four years to construct at a cost of 220 million baht and Inaugurated by His Majesty the King at a grand ceremony on December the 24th 1993 managed by the Anek Kusala Sala (Viharnra Sien) foundation. This outstanding 3 story structure is within the catchment area of the Royal Temple of Wat Yanasangwararam and built by the Thai-Chinese community in honour of His Majesty the King.
Kao Chee Chan Buddhist Image (3 kms)
Khao Chi Chan is part of the Wat YangSangwaram Temple Complex, although it is a couple of kilometers away from it, near here is Nong Nooch Gardens. This image is the largest sculptured image of Buddha in the world, it was done in 1995 for the Kings Birthday. The Buddha image is 130 meters tall and 70 meters wide and outlined in Gold.
Wat Yansangwararam (5 kms)
At the entrance are situated international pavilions. Within the compound of the temple are the Mondop where a replica of the Buddha’s footprint is enshrined, a large Chedi containing the relics of the Lord Buddha, as well as, his enlightened followers, and Wihan Phra Yanaret.
Ban Amphur (2 kms)
Ban Amphur Beach and fishing village. Ban Amphur is a small friendly fishing village away from the rugged night life of Pattaya. It has a typical local market and boasts many wonderful fish restaurants along the beach where you can eat great food for very little money. Restaurants: Preecha Seafood and Rimpa La Pin A nice relaxing day out for the family where you can sample delicious food from the local beach vendors.
Silverlake Vineyards (3.5 kms)
1000 acre Vineyards established with an Italian Restaurant. Golf course is under construction close by. Silver Lakes Vineyards and loads of fields full of Grapevines, There is an area where you can buy wines and jams. A beautiful italian restaurant offers fine dining while watching the sunset over Silverlake. A shopping complex and vinyard tour.
Pattaya Floating Market
Pattaya Floating Market was opened to the public in November 2008. The area of Pattaya’s latest attraction which is situated on an approximately area of 100,000 square meters. It is divided into 4 separate parts, each with its own unique location, represents the four regions of Thailand: Northern -, Central -, North-Eastern and Southern region and offering a special blend of differing traditions. More than 80 paddle boats are on standby to ferry visitors around the compound along many Thai style teak wood buildings, linked by a network of canals, bridges and a number of different sized islands with exotic plants and trees.The boat trip will slowly expose the richness of the surrounding architectural and cultural river side living. The Nueng Siam Woodcarving Museum has on display rare pieces of crafted 200 years old teak and is home for the impressive and beautiful carved image of the elephant god Ganesha.Pattaya Floating Market, the biggest man made floating market in the world, is located on the outskirts of Pattaya on Sukhumvit Road, on the way to Bang Saray and Sattahip. Khao Kheow open zoo
Thailand's largest open plan zoo with the animals roaming freely without fences. Covering 2,000 acres with over 300 species located in twelve themed zones, including Africa, Cats Complex, Walk Through Aviary, Penguin Park. Visitors can drive their own cars around, or catch one of the zoo's guided auto-trams that cover a seven-kilometre route through the various zones, allowing you to get off and on where you like. Additional attractions include the daily Animal Show, Night Safari by auto-tram to discover the nocturnal habits of many animals; Zoo School (with accommodation) offers curricula for students to learn about animals and the environment. Visitors wanting to support the zoo's activities can join the Animal Adoption program to sponsor food and medicine for the animal of their choice.This zoo operated by the Zoological Garden Organization and covers a vast tract of forestland.
